Man arrested for carrying knife, blocking work of police officer

Paphos police on Thursday arrested a man in connection with obstructing a police officer and carrying a knife.

While carrying out checks to curb the spread of the coronavirus, officers stopped a 44-year-old man who was walking in the Polis Chrysochous area.

When he was searched, he resisted and was arrested for obstructing a police officer in the execution of his duty.

A 19-centimetre-long knife was found in his possession.

The suspect is being detained while investigations continue.
