Teens arrested for racing at twice the speed limit

Two teens were arrested in Paphos on Sunday evening driving at twice the speed limit.

The incident occurred at around 10.25pm when a member of the Paphos traffic police, who was conducting a speed control on Eratos Avenue in Geroskipou, spotted two cars racing each other reaching a speed of 146 kph. The maximum speed limit at this point is 65 kph.

The two vehicles were then stopped for inspection when it was found the drivers involved were 18 and 19-years-old, and both residents of Paphos.

The men were charged and released to appear in court at a later date.
