Man arrested in connection with weapons stockpile

Police arrested a 50-year-old man on Sunday as part of an ongoing investigations into a stockpile of  weapons and explosives found in Nicosia in May.

The stash, located on May 19 in a warehouse, included two pistols (one fully loaded), a carbine type weapon, a revolver, 152 full cartridges and several other explosives.

Police obtained testimony against the 50-year-old resident of Nicosia. A judicial arrest warrant was issued against him and he was arrested and taken into custody on Sunday.

The investigation continues.
