Bringing artists together in link to past

2

Sunday is a day of arts, crafts and music in Trimiklini as several events take place. The 2nd Art and Sculpture Group exhibition at the Cultural Room of Michalakis Konnaris Park, opposite Trimiklini church, will bring together unique artists from different origins, backgrounds and mediums to connect their unique pasts with their conceptual concerns and material experimentation in both painting and sculpture.

Eight artists take part in the exhibition (Katie Sabry, Electra Varnava, Tatiana Ferahian, Georgia Karagiorgi, Spyros Demetriades, Giorgos Koumouros and sculptors Mary Pavrou and Petra Spyrou).

A little bit further down the Michalakis Konnaris Park, a diverse outdoor fair and market of ceramics and hand-crafted art will also take place. Artisans from different nationalities and areas of Cyprus will gather at the green village of Trimiklini to exhibit and sell their ceramics and crafts. Alongside the Ceramic & Craft Fair and the Group Art & Sculpture Exhibition, an early evening World Music Concert will take place.

Cyprus-based musicians will perform folk, pop, rock, blues and Greek music in a special World Music Concert at 5pm. The concert will take place at the Michalakis Konnaris Amphitheatre, featuring five acts and audiences are advised to bring a cushion to sit on. Opening the concert is Dimitris Kalatzis with pop/rock/blues music, followed by some folk by Kevin Abraham and Clare Hurrell. World music will then sound at 6.45pm, while The Irish Ramblers present more folk music at 7.15pm. Time Leap will play 80s and 90s pop-rock tunes to close off a day full of art, music and fun.
