Till we meet again…

till we meet againweb

In between the season’s Christmas events, crafty workshops and markets, comes a new exhibition to showcase works by 12 contemporary Cypriot women artists against the backdrop of the Centre for Visual Art and Research’s prestigious collection.

New and existing works by each artist will be on view from December 16 to February 15, encompassing a range of materials including audio-visual installations, three-dimensional mix-media sculptures, as well as painting, photography, and textiles. Titled Till We Meet Again…, the exhibition will be displayed across all four floors of the museum in Nicosia, alongside paintings created by visitors to Cyprus during the 18th – 20th centuries, antique costumes and memorabilia, creating an inspired and at times inquisitive dialogue with CVAR’s permanent collection.

Participating in the exhibitions are works by Alev Adil, Anber Onar, Dicle Özlüses, Dize Kükrer, Evelyn Anastasiou, Gönen Atakol, Koula Savvidou, Lito Kattou, Maria Perendou, Marina Xenofontos, Melina Shukuroglou and Oya Silbery.

Curated by Nicos Chr. Pattichis, Esra Plümer Bardak and Oya Silbery, the exhibition invites viewers to experience a challenging yet exciting endeavour that presents these artists’ poetic encounters with the history of the island of Cyprus, bridging notions through subjective and shared experiences, and in turn question meanings in our current climate.
