Paphos police investigating knife attack that left man with injured hand

Paphos police are investigating a case of actual bodily harm and malicious damage in Polis Chrysochous and expect to arrest a 38-year-old man.

According to police, at around 2.40am on Wednesday, a 24-year-old from Polis filed a complaint that he had been injured by the suspect with a knife.

He said he had visited the suspect, an old friend from Prodromi, shortly after midnight at his home. The 38-year-old at some point during a conversation, allegedly grabbed the younger man’s tablet and threw it on the floor.

He then allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and started attacking him, injuring his left hand.

An arrest warrant is expected to be issued against the 38-year-old.

According to the victim, he and the older man had personal differences.
