The Cyprus-Greece-Israel trilateral meeting scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed, after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu underwent surgery on Saturday.

The prime minister’s office said planned trips to Cyprus and Turkey had been postponed and that it would provide an update if there were new details, Reuters reported.

The 73-year-old leader was rushed to Sheba Medical Center near Tel Aviv on Saturday after a heart monitor implanted a week earlier in what was described as a dehydration episode detected a “temporary arrhythmia”, his doctors said.

After the surgery, Netanyahu said in a video statement that he is “doing excellently.”

The hospital said after the surgery that the Israeli prime minister’s health was “good” and that he would remain under medical supervision in the cardiology department.
