Man arrested for attempting to steal car

Police in Paphos arrested a 36-year-old man for possession of stolen property, police said on Thursday.

According to Paphos police, the man was found after police received at tip at 1am he was attempting to steal a car in Kato Paphos.

Officers went to the scene and found the man in the driver’s seat of a vehicle without licence plates on it.

Police said that the man seemed to be attempting to hotwire the vehicle.

According to police, the car was found to belong to a 53-year-old Briton living in Paphos.

During questioning the 36-year-old did not give a sufficient explanation, police said.

Police are continuing investigations.
