All public transport bus routes to run at 100% capacity

00 posts. april21 07

With gymnasium and lyceum schools having reopened on April 2, after a long period of hiatus, Cyprus Public Transport (CPT) is ready to welcome all students back on board once more.

CPT’s school services will be operating as normal, and all buses will run at full capacity. Under these circumstances, a disinfection schedule has already been set, is being monitored and will continue to be strictly implemented, in order to meet Ministry of Transport Communications and Works regulations.

Additionally, CPT’s general bus services are also coming back, which means that all public transport routes will return to full capacity. In order to meet the 100% capacity challenge on the buses it operates, CPT has adopted all necessary measures to ensure safe and comfortable trips for its passengers.

Cyprus Public Transport operates school routes for Gymnasium, Lyceum and Technical School students in the Nicosia (urban, Alambra, Tamasos and western areas) and Larnaca Districts.

In the Nicosia and Larnaca Districts, CPT operates standard bus routes via an extensive network, connecting the suburbs with the city centres and outlying villages. Night routes in both districts and airport routes in the Larnaca District are also included in CPT’s services.

Parents should remember that all students must have a valid monthly card to travel, otherwise they will need to purchase a single ticket. All students can top up their cards at any station, or online at CPT’s website.

Contactless ticketing options are available to all passengers, as safety is always a priority, especially under the present, pandemic-impacted circumstances.
