Italy-based Russian artist Andrei Arkhipov, whose paintings are part of significant Russian collections, is holding an ongoing exhibition at the Aphrodite-Amathusia Cultural Centre in Limassol, hosted by the newly-established Insight Gallery.

Arkhipov, currently studying in Italy, creates his art by combining classical painting techniques and aesthetics with modern patterns and cultural references. His work is characterised by exceptional knowledge of anatomy and high artistic mastery, allowing him to create a wide range of styles, themes and references to old masters, particularly the Caravaggisti school and the Renaissance period. The exhibition, running until June 7, showcases Arkhipov’s large-format canvases, which are part of private collections in Russia, America, France, Switzerland, Spain, Italy and England.

The Insight Gallery is a new Cypriot gallery that collaborates with talented artists who have established themselves on the international art scene. The exhibition is curated by art consultant and collector Tatiana Stiskina, who has extensive experience selecting works for classical and contemporary art collections.

In addition, the exhibition will feature Arkhipov’s Caravaggisti series, which combines the themes of dreams and inspiration, along with other works that explore various motifs and symbols familiar to old masters, such as unicorns, which represent unattainable dreams.
