Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society: free services offer care from the heart

For over 50 years, the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society has stood by people with cancer and their families, responding to their every need with respect, selflessness and empathy. Three values it has upheld to the fullest extent since being established, and continues to do so unceasingly, with a single goal: to offer care from the heart.

With the needs of patients in mind, the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society offers a wide range of supportive and palliative care services free of charge, towards improving the quality of life of people battling cancer.

In this context, the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society operates two palliative care centres: “Arodafnousa” in Nicosia and “Evagoreio” in Limassol, with staff who are specially trained to offer comprehensive supportive and palliative care services.

At the same time, the organisation, recognising the daily needs of cancer patients, as well as those of their families, offers free services such as 24-hour home medical and nursing care, transportation to the Nicosia and Limassol oncology centres, physiotherapy, social and psychological support, as well as aromatherapy.

The ultimate goal, via an integrated human-centred approach, and with love for this profession, is to continue to stand beside cancer sufferers. Because, put simply, for the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, offering care from the heart is its enduring mission.
