Three arrested after drugs haul at Paphos airport

A 35-year-old Hungarian woman and two men aged 24 and 18 have been arrested after the woman was caught with over three kilos of cannabis in her luggage at Paphos airport on Sunday, police said.

The woman, a resident of the Netherlands, was caught on arrival after disembarking a flight from Brussels. The drugs were found by security scanners.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

After questioning her, police subsequently staged a controlled deliver of the drugs to the two men in Nicosia, who were then arrested. Police said they also found a pot with three cannabis plants in a makeshift garden at the men’s residence.

All three are expected to appear at Paphos court later on Monday.
