Championship decider at GSP?

By Iacovos Constantinou

More than 16.000 fans are expected are expected to pack the GSP stadium late Tuesday afternoon for the game between league leaders AEL and the team snapping at their heels, APOEL.

APOEL, trailing AEL by three points, know that a loss today will ultimately end their title aspirations but a win will put them level on points with the Limassol outfit and will turn this championship into the most closely contested one since the playoffs were introduced.

Greek coach Donis will have to decide on who will replace suspended midfielder Vinicius and left back Antoniades with Artymatas and Pipinis respectively expected to get the nod.

He welcomes back however his star player De Vincenti who returns to action after missing the last two games where he was sorely missed.

AEL know that a draw will tip the scales heavily in their favour as they will have played their toughest match of the playoffs and still maintained their lead.

With this in mind their coach Petev may decide to try and contain APOEL and if possible hit them on the break.

He will be without his tough tackling midfielder Sachetti, out for the rest of the season through injury, with youngster Ohene expected to be his preferred replacement.

The game starts at 18.00.
