British resident found dead in swimming pool

A 72-year-old British permanent resident of Emba in Paphos, was found dead in her swimming pool on Wednesday evening.

According to a police report, the 72-year-old was found floating unconscious in the pool by her 74-year-old husband, also British, who had been away and returned home shortly after 8pm on Wednesday.

The 74-year-old pulled his wife from the pool and took her to Paphos General, where she was pronounced dead.

Despite the fact that the 72-year-old had not faced particular health problems, it was deemed possible that her death might be down to pathological causes.

An autopsy, scheduled for Friday, is expected to establish the cause of the woman’s death.
