‘Journey of Hope’ due in Cyprus

Kuwait’s humanitarian ship the ‘Journey of Hope’, which is on a global voyage, is scheduled to arrive at Limassol port on Friday.

Journey of Hope set sail on May 1 beginning the voyage as a ‘cultural fingerprint’ sailing from Kuwait with a global humanitarian message for the benefit of the mentally disabled.

Under the Patronage of HH Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of the State of Kuwait, the ship left Kuwait intending on proclaiming a humanitarian message to the wider world by sailing to 19 countries, on the way towards Washington, DC and back.

“The ship is a shining example of the power, that can unify all cultures and religions towards a collective effort to care for and benefit those with mental disabilities everywhere around the world, spreading awareness about the extraordinary abilities of the mentally disabled at performing heroic acts, as well as illustrating to the world Kuwait’s cultural image, and its approach in caring for those suffering from mental disabilities,” said a news release.

The Kuwaiti embassy in Cyprus has organised two events in Cyprus that will include  ministers, mayors, high-ranking government officials and members of the diplomatic corps in welcoming the ship’s arrival in Cyprus.
