Cyprus secured 11 medals in the first day of GSSE

Cyprus has secured eleven medals during the first day of the Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE) which started Tuesday in Reykjavik, Iceland.

According to the correspondent of EAK, Cyprus secured 5 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals in athletics, gymnastics, swimming and shooting.

Amine Khadiri in 800 m run, Panos Ioannou in 100 m run and Nikandros Stylianou in pole vault, the Cypriot team in gymnastics (MAG-Team) and Marios Georgiou in gymnastics (MAG-All around) secured the gold medals.

Sebastian Konnaris in swimming (200m Backstroke), Christos Chatziangelidis in 100 m run and Michalis Krasias in gymnastics (MAG-All around) secured the silver medals for Cyprus.

Finally, Natalia Evangelidou in 800 m run, Demetra Kyriakidou in 100 m run and Marilena Constantinou in shooting (Air rifle), secured the bronze metals.
