Limassol operator says no room for more shipyards in Cyprus

By Stelios Orphanides

The chairman of the Limassol shipyard said he was angered over comments made by Transport Minister Marios Demetriades about the possibility of granting licences for up to three more shipyards in Cyprus.

The shipyard in Limassol, operated by FAMA Group, agreed three weeks ago with the operators of the shipyard in Turkish-held Famagusta, to enter a client and revenue sharing agreement.
