A story of love is sung

Technopolis 20 Cultural Centre in Paphos is gearing up to present an art-song recital by the Ledra Music Soloists with soprano Zoe Nicolaidou, who will be accompanied by Nicolas Costantinou on the piano.

For the first time in Cyprus, the artists will perform the song cycle L’or et l’ombre by Cypriot composer Constantinos Stylianou, which deals with the experience of love.

The collection of songs tell the story of an accidental acquaintance which leads to an erotic idyll which is abruptly interrupted by death, followed by mourning and eventually leading to new hope.

The recital will conclude with a series of works written in France during the so-called Belle Époque enriched with the folkloric musical traditions of both Greece and Spain.
