Three treated for smoke inhalation after car fires

Three people were treated for smoke inhalation at Nicosia hospital’s A&E in the early hours of Sunday after becoming trapped inside their apartment due to a fire that destroyed three cars in the parking area of the building, police said.
A report was received by police and the fire service at around 2.45am that three cars belonging to a 74-year-old and a 48-year-old who lived in the building, were on fire and that some residents were trapped inside due to the heavy smoke.
After extinguishing the fire, officers and firefighters went inside to rescue the residents.
Three were taken by ambulance to hospital with respiratory problems, treated, and released, police said.
The three cars were completely. Police said investigations were ongoing on Sunday to determine the cause of the fire.
