Telly thieves strike again

Thieves who broke into the clubhouse of Salamina in Dromolaxia early Monday stole a €400 television.

Kiti police say they received a call from a local man reporting the break-in, who said he saw a dark saloon car leaving the scene. An alarm on the premises was triggered.

Police went to the scene to investigate, patrolling the perimeter area before examining the clubhouse.

Also in attendance was the manager of the premises who after checks verified a 50-inch television was missing.

Further investigation concluded the culprits had entered and left the building through a sliding a door after removing the aluminium supports.

The alarm system installed was triggered at around 3.25am. The clubhouse is not insured.

The break-in follows a number of others over the weekend with the clubhouse of AEK in Kiti violated on Saturday night, with thieves taking three TVs worth some €1,400 and ,on the same night a little distance away in the area of Pervolia more televisions stolen from four houses in complex.
