Cyprus and Russia sign universities deal

Education Minister Costas Kadis and Russian Education and Science Minister Olga Vasilyeva have signed an agreement in the fields of education and science.

The agreement provides for the mutual recognition of academic titles between Cypriot and Russian universities.

The deal was signed in Moscow, in the presence of the rectors of Cypriot universities.

Kadis said that the agreement would be a catalyst for the enhancement of cooperation between the two countries.

He added that universities in both countries could now join forces and create new opportunities for students, academics and researchers.

The Russian Minister said the agreement was a very important step in the strengthening of cooperation between Cyprus and Russia. She added that the agreement attached great importance in the expansion of partnerships between the universities in the two countries.

The Head of the Conference of Rectors, Rector of the European University Costas Gouliamos said it was an historic agreement that opened new prospects for cooperation.
