Two pedestrians hit by cars

A 50-year-old woman and a 79-year-old man were injured on Saturday in two separate accidents in Larnaca after being hit by cars.

According to the police, the 50-year-old was hit by a car driven by a 26-year-old woman while trying to cross Stalingrad street on Saturday morning. She was taken to the Larnaca general hospital where she was diagnosed with fractures to several parts of her body. Her condition is not considered to be critical.

The second accident occurred at around noon, when a 79-year-old man who was walking along a pavement on Ellados street, was hit by a car driven by a 65-year-old man who had lost control of his vehicle. The car veered off course and went up on the pavement and hit the 79-year-old. He too was transferred to the Larnaca general hospital with fractures to his ribcage.
