Man arrested over July explosion

A 28-year-old man was arrested in Liopetri on Thursday evening in connection with an explosion in Paralimni which occurred in July. He is expected to be remanded later in the day.

On July 26 around 2.30am police were told there had been an explosion on premises in Paralimni, but when officers got to the scene they did not at first find any evidence of an explosion.

It was not until some hours later, at around 9.30am, that a 50-year-old man, a manager of the premises, reported two vehicles parked outside the office were damaged by a fire.

The wall of the building also suffered damage.

One of the cars belonged to the company while the other was owned by a car rental.
