Cyprus and Bahrain set to sign cooperation agreements in FM visit

Cyprus and Bahrain are set to sign a number of agreements, including a Memorandum of Understanding on the field of energy during an official visit in Manama by Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides, on Wednesday.

Christodoulides is paying Bahrain an official visit following an invitation by his counterpart Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, a Foreign Ministry press release issued here today says.

The Cypriot Foreign Minister will have extended talks with Al Khalifa during which they will review the full spectrum of the two countries bilateral relations and will examine specific ways to further enhancing them.

Christodoulides and Al Khalifa will also discuss regional and international matters of mutual interest while biliateral agreements are expected to be signed, including a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the field of energy, the press release adds.

In the context of his visit the Cypriot Minister will be be received by Bahrain`s Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and will also have a meeting with First Deputy Prime Minister Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad al Khalifa.

He will further meet with the President of the Commerce and Industry Chamber of Bahrain Samir Nass.

He returns to Cyprus on Thursday morning.
