200 guitars on stage

How many musicians can a stage fit? An upcoming concert series will see Nicosia and Limassol audiences treated to a captivating musical occasion which will see 200 guitars on stage. A collaboration between the Cyprus Guitar Orchestra and renowned artist Nikos Portokaloglou will result in two concerts for a charitable cause. Its first stop will be the Strovolos Municipal Theatre on January 20 and its second Rialto Theatre on the following evening.

Under the artistic direction of Antonis Koizas, the concert will feature more talents on stage besides the 200 guitars. Antonis Mytakidis will be in charge of orchestration and conducting, George and Stelios Gkogkaris will be the soloists of the nights along with vocalist Marina Verzanli and the Cyprus Guitar Trio. The performance will also feature the participation of professors and students from universities, conservatories and music schools.

The concerts promise to be a unique experience and a one-of-a-kind event for music lovers as the singer-songwriter presents his beloved compositions and songs that have defined him as an artist, accompanied by the Cyprus Guitar Orchestra. All of the proceeds raised from the two concerts will be donated to the Cyprus Anticancer Society.
