Over the holiday season, Cyprus Casinos (C2) operator Melco Cyprus, and the upcoming integrated resort City of Dreams Mediterranean, renewed its commitment to social responsibility through a series of charitable initiatives.

The Company collaborated with several schools in the Zakaki area, namely the kindergarten, elementary and secondary schools, donating presents to ensure all needy students received Christmas gifts.

Melco Cyprus also partnered with Efimerida Lemesos on the implementation of the ‘No Child Without a Present This Year’ Christmas charity campaign for the second consecutive year. Two dedicated events were hosted with live links at the Melco Career Centre in Molos, Limassol, inviting the public to donate gift vouchers, toys, clothes and electronic devices for children of all ages, while promoting the importance of giving back to the community to employees.

The initiative was embraced both by Melco Cyprus employees and local community members, who actively took part by sharing gifts. As a result, over 200 presents were collected and distributed to needy children.

“The holidays are all about sharing joy and giving back to the community,” said City of Dreams Mediterranean and Cyprus Casinos Property General Manager Grant Johnson. “We are thrilled that our festive charity initiatives brought smiles to approximately 300 disadvantaged children.

“Melco Cyprus is committed to supporting the local community through implementing and supporting innovative philanthropic programmes, while, at the same time, remaining focused on contributing to the country’s economic growth.”

The ‘No Child Without a Present this Year’ Christmas charity campaign is part of Melco’s multi-faceted global sustainability strategy, ‘Above and Beyond’. Through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, Melco delivers on its commitment of being a leading corporate citizen: giving back to the communities it serves.
