Man hospitalised after car accident

A 55-year-old man is in critical but stable condition at the Nicosia general hospital after sustaining multiple rib and spinal fractures, as well as a liver rupture, following a road accident that occurred on Tuesday morning in Livadia, near Larnaca.

According to Larnaca police spokesperson Haris Hadjiyiasemis, the accident took place at around 5.50am near the American College in the direction of Dhekelia.

“Members of the nearby Oroklini police station rushed to the scene where they found the 55-year-old in need of urgent medical care.

“He was transported to the Larnaca general hospital, but due to the seriousness of his injuries, he was transferred by ambulance to Nicosia. He underwent surgery and his conditions are still critical, but stable.”
