Tallu, the 32-year-old baboon at Limassol Zoo has died

ONE OF Limassol zoo’s two baboons ‘Tallu’ died on Sunday at the age of 32

In an announcement on Monday Zoo Director Lambros Lambrou said Tallu and her sister Augusta were born at Limassol zoo in 1982 and had been inseparable.

“On Sunday morning I found that Tallu was very weak and had collapsed on the floor without responding,” said Lambrou, adding that she was immediately taken to the zoo’s veterinary clinic and examined but she could not be saved.

The announcement said staff were saddened by the baboon’s death, which would “be an even bigger blow to her sister,” it added.
