Driver crushed by his own car

A 34–year-old British permanent resident died after he was crushed by his own car on the road from Alaminou towards Mazotos village in Larnaca just before midnight on Monday.

Authorities said he was driving with excessive speed and after losing control of the car he skidded on to a dirt road on his left side. As he was not wearing a seatbelt, he was flung out of the car when it began overturning and was crushed underneath.

He was taken to the Larnaca General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His father identified his body and confirmed he was a permanent resident in Mazotos.
