Man dies while swimming in sea

66-year-old Anthoulis Frantzeskou, who had gone swimming with his wife in Dasoudi, Limassol, died while swimming in the area on Saturday morning, a police spokesman said.

According to the police, Frantzeskou’s wife spotted him floating unconscious in the water at 7am on Saturday, and called for help.

The 66-year-old was rushed to Limassol General, where he was pronounced dead.

His death could be owed to pathological causes, but this will be confirmed by his autopsy, which will be performed by coroner Eleni Antoniou on Sunday.
