Betting shop owner’s cars torched

Three cars belonging to a betting shop owner aged 48 were set on fire in an arson attack early on Saturday morning in the Livadia area of Larnaca.

According to police, at around 2am they were informed of the flames at a man’s garage in Ayios Savva. CCTV footage showed an individual wearing a helmet walk into the garage and pour flammable material over the three cars and a motorbike and set them on fire.

At the same time, a second person was seen also wearing a helmet moving away from the third car which was parked on the pavement where it shortly burst into flames.

They were seen on camera fleeing the scene towards the Ayios Savva church.

The cars were almost entirely destroyed. Police is monitoring the scene and guarding the home where he lives with his family.
