Stolen car torched

A burnt out car was found in a field after police received information at around 12.30am Thursday of a fire in Pyla, in Larnaca district.

From investigations carried out, it was verified the vehicle had been reported by its owner as stolen from his house in Famagusta district following a burglary on October 9.

The blaze, which was put out by the fire service and completely destroyed the car, appears to have been maliciously started.

Evidence was collected from the scene for forensic tests.
