Imagine all the people living life in peace

After the success of a play without words for children Just Imagine in Larnaca, and before it travels to China, Catherine Beger and Mohammed Awwad will entertain children in the capital with the play that teaches about acceptance on Saturday.

The play by Beger brings to the stage two characters. The one played by Beger is dressed in black and white, has a little paper mouse and she likes to have everything in its place. The other character, played by Awwad, is dressed in clothes that have been splattered in colour.

“My character lives in a clean world covered in paper. Then Awwad parachutes in from a totally different place. I am afraid and I hide. Then this man from somewhere else starts to paint and his idea of art is very different to mine so I order him to leave, at which point he tries to make friends with me but I reject him,” Beger said.

The play continues with the two characters fighting a paint war until their separate colours mix and make a new colour. After this they look at their shapes and realise that together their simple shapes create images.

“The whole play looks at stereotypes from both sides, it is about how different people can influence each other but at the same time there is no fairytale ending,” Beger said.
