Tripartite meeting for diaspora to be held this week

Egyptian Minister of Immigration and Expatriate Affairs Nabila Makram

Egyptian Minister of Immigration and Expatriate Affairs Nabila Makram will visit Cyprus on Tuesday for a series of meetings with Presidential Commissioner Fotis Fotiou and Greek Deputy Foreign Minister for the Diaspora Terence Quick.

This is the first meeting between the three since the Nostos meeting in Alexandria at the end of April which was attended by the three heads of state.

They will also look to extend the Nostos programme to other areas of the world where there are expat communities from Cyprus, Egypt and Greece.

The Nostos programme aims at gathering Cypriots and Greeks or their descendants in Alexandria for a return trip to the place where they or their ancestors lived.
