Coronavirus: deserted streets as new lockdown enters into force (photos)

The streets and highways of the capital were deserted at midday on Sunday, one of the busiest days of the week for Old Nicosia as the new lockdown kicked in at 5am. Churches were also empty, and police were busy checking people’s SMS passes on their mobile phones.
