Residency Programme to bring live events to Nicosia

The Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre this April inaugurates the first Residency Programme for Performing and Live Arts at Theatro Polis OPAP. The programme will present seven artists and artistic groups which were selected through an open call.

The artistic proposals which will be presented are based on the artists’ and artistic groups’ research during April-November 2021. The objective of the residency programme is to connect to the city, and present emerging and established artists and artistic groups from the fields of performance and live arts. The programme will focus on hosting and supporting participants during the research period of their proposed project.

As part of their residency, the selected applicants will organise and present public events. The elected projects are: enacttheatre: Research on the anthology Spoon River, by Edgar Lee Masters; Yiasemin Collective: Double Act; Georgia Andreou: Thoughts; Physical Plastic theatre project – Yiannis Christofides and Kestrel Leah: Touch(ed; Andreas Kentis & Claudia Bruno: Just a Bottle?; Kyriaki Costa: Head and Hand – Foun[d]ain; Santa Semeli and the Monks: Research for music shows.
