Island School to participate in Limassol tree-planting

The Island Private School

Last summer, Cyprus once again faced devastating fires, with the flames reaching the outskirts of our school – The Island School – in Palodia.

With the blazes extinguished, our School expressed its intention to take part in reforestation efforts, in order to restore the natural environment and revitalise its affected communities.

Therefore, the Island School is pleased to announce the first of a series of tree plantings to be undertaken by our students, in partnership with the Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

More specifically, on Friday, November 24, 2023 from 10am-12pm, a group of 70 students from our School will take part in planting saplings at the Polemidia National Forest Park, situated in Limassol municipality.

We would like to thank the Forestry Department for its good cooperation, and in particular Forestry Department Director Charalambos Alexandrou, who embraced our initiative from the start.

Today, Island School students are leading the way to a better environment. Because when we all desire a common outcome, together, we can achieve it!
