Men being sought after fuel theft from EAC substation

POLICE are investigating the theft of fuel from a generator at an Electricity Authority (EAC) substation in Polis Chrysochous.

It had recently been reported to police that fuel was being stolen from the EAC’s substation in Neo Chorio.

An officer was patrolling the area at around 7pm on Friday when he spotted two people who were siphoning petrol from the generator’s fuel tank.

The officer called for back-up but after seeing the police arrive the two men got in their vehicle and sped off. Police were unable to catch the pair.

Polis Chrysochous police station is investigating the case and officers are continuing their search for the two men.
