Travel advice issued for Libya

The foreign ministry on Friday advised citizens of the Republic who had intended to travel to Libya to refrain from doing so, due to the unstable situation in the country.

The ministry said that in view of the deteriorating situation, citizens of the Republic who are in Libya, are advised to avoid places of mass gatherings, avoid any travelling, and follow news reports and developments in the country.

For any consular information and assistance, the ministry calls on interested persons to contact the duty officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Tripoli, on the following telephone numbers:
