Rifle and valuables stolen

AN army issue G3 assault rifle, an air pistol, and valuables worth €1,000 were stolen from a home in the Peristerona area, in Nicosia, police said yesterday.

The home belongs to a 42-year-old who told police it had been burgled between 8.40pm and 10.30pm on Thursday.

A 61-year-old also reported a break-in at his Klirou home, which took place between 4pm and 7.15pm on Thursday.

The man said thieves took electric appliances and other valuables worth €23,900.
