Chinese FM arrives in Cyprus on Sunday

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People`s Republic of China Wang Yi

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People`s Republic of China Wang Yi will be in Cyprus on Sunday and Monday for an official visit to Cyprus, during which he will hold meetings with President Nicos Anastasiades and President of the House Yiannakis Omirou and participate in official talks between delegations of the two countries.

According to the programme of his visit, Wang will arrive in Cyprus on Sunday afternoon. Later that day he will take a walking tour of Ledra and Onasagorou streets in Nicosia.

On Monday morning, Wang will be received at the Presidential Palace by Anastasiades after which he will have a meeting at the parliament with the House President.

Wang and the members of the Chinese delegation will then go to the Foreign Ministry for official talks with a Cypriot delegation headed by Foreign Minister Ioannnis Kasoulides.

After the talks the two ministers will make statements to the press. Following their statements, Kasoulides will host a lunch in honour of the Chinese minister.
In the afternoon Wang will visit the ancient Greco-Roman theatre at Kourion and later he will take a walking tour of Phinikoudes in Larnaca.
He will leave Cyprus on Monday evening. (CNA)
