Big part of the Tombs of the Kings road to be completed in April

A big part of the works along the Tombs of the Kings road in Paphos will finally be completed in April after an 11-month delay, chairman of the House communications and works committee Antonis Antoniou said on Sunday.

In a written statement, Antoniou said that following a number of problems and delays the section of the road from Tombs of the Kings Avenue to Potima would be finished by mid-April.

He said the section to Potima had been accelerated “to serve the residents of the affected communities and the large number of tourists visiting the region”. This would also include the secondary road network and the connection of Lemba with the coastal road.

The project, which has been going on for years, had been broken into eight parts and was essentially set to be completed by April 2015. But the company asked for an 11 month extension. The entire project is expected to cost around €14 million.
