Mermaids and angels in Limassol

Tomorrow Morfi Gallery in Limassol will open up its doors to welcome visitors to the latest exhibition by Yiorgos Erotokritos.

The exhibition, entitled Erotokritos and displaying human and mythical figures, will be inaugurated by the chairman of the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation, Thanasis Tsokos.

Erotokritos, from Lambousa, near Kyrenia, studied in Athens and London. When he finished his studies, he returned to Athens to work and learn all about restoration and wood carving.

During the course of his artistic career, the well-known House of Faberge has selected Erotokritos to design a collection of Faberge eggs. For this purpose, the artist chose to use symbols from his own creative production, such as the angel and the mermaid – figures that will also be displayed in this exhibition.

During his lifetime, Erotokritos has had a number of solo exhibitions in Cyprus and abroad, while also taking part in a number of group exhibitions.
