There will be no water cuts in Paphos any time soon, the city’s head of water services Charalambos Karaolidis said on Thursday.
Speaking to the Cyprus News Agency, Karaolidis urged residents to avoid unnecessary water consumption because reserves are low, although at better levels than in previous years.
He said Wednesday’s water cuts in some parts of Paphos were due to the maintenance and cleaning of tanks in the main reservoir at Vassilikos.
A delay in the process caused some problems, he said, adding that usually there are no such problems because water can be supplied by other tanks when some are being overhauled.
He that Wednesday’s work showed everything is in order and nothing is broken or damaged.
