Cash stolen from Peyia home

A thief or thieves stole a safe containing money from a residence in Peyia on Monday afternoon, police said.

A British visitor told police that between 7.30pm and 10.20pm the house he is staying in was broken into and thieves took a safe containing €1,200 and GBP115.

Police officers who visited the scene discovered that entry had been gained via a balcony door which had been left unlocked.

They collected various items to facilitate investigations.
