A 22-year-old man injured in a road accident on Monday night in Protaras, Famagusta, is in serious condition at the Famagusta General hospital, a police report said.

According to the report, around 9.50pm Monday, the man was driving his car in the Protaras-Cavo Greco avenue, when he crashed head-on with a car driven by a 36-year-old woman heading in the opposite direction.

The two cars were completely destroyed in the collision, while the 22-year-old was trapped in the wreckage.

Both drivers were then rushed to the Famagusta general’s emergency room.
