A 27-year-old woman and her two children, eight and six, were in serious condition on Saturday following a road collision in Nicosia on Friday afternoon.

Police said they were investigating the cause of the 3.15pm incident in which the woman apparently slammed into the car ahead of her on the Nicosia to Kokkinotrimithia road near Anthoupolis.

The woman’s third child was also in the car but was only slightly injured. The three-year-old had been travelling in a children’s car seat.

The family was rushed to hospital, the woman and her two children in serious condition. The third child was discharged after a check-up.
