New fake travel document cases at airports

File photo

Another three people were arrested at Larnaca and Paphos airports on Sunday on suspicion of attempting to travel to European destinations with documents that did not belong to them.

One identity card was found to have been declared as stolen in 2017. The three were all arrested and are expected to appear into court later today.

Police are investigating the case. There has been a recent spate of arrests of individuals, mostly of African origin, trying to leave Cyprus with fake or stolen travel documents.
