Two soldiers injured in attack

Two Greek soldiers were attacked in Athalassa park in Nicosia on Sunday evening.

Police on Monday reported that the two 24-year-olds were attacked by a group of unknown perpetrators, while returning to their unit after taking leave.

Media sources reported that the soldiers were attacked around 7:30pm by a group of around 15 unknown men.

The two were taken to the hospital for their injuries following the attack.

One of the two was discharged after receiving first aid, while the second, who suffered a fractured lower jaw, was hospitalised.

The case is under ongoing investigation.
