Rock and jazz in Paphos this week

This weekend it’s all about jazzy, rocking tunes as several bands play around Paphos. The Moonriver Swing & Jazz band play at the Saint Giorgio restaurant on Friday starting at 7.30pm. Part of the Paphos Sessions live music series, Michael Antoniou and his band will perform classic songs from the Great American Songbook with Michael on vocals, Renad Nourmanchine on the piano, Sergie Sergienko on drums and Elias Ioannou on the trumpet.

Continuing the love for jazz is the Droushia Dixie Seven band with another performance at Saint Giorgio on Sunday. Seven musicians will take the floor at 2pm to play beloved jazz tunes. A day earlier though and it’s less jazz and more rock!

On Saturday Mandria Beach bar is hosting an end-of-summer beach party, organised by the Island Angels group. The all-female bikers group plan similar events every year and this weekend they are getting together for an afternoon of fun with a bazaar, a movie screening and of course, music. Local band Side Effects will perform a blend of rockabilly and blues rock while Mr Loopman Stefanos Georgiades presents his Loop Station Project. Head down at 4pm for an afternoon of music, food, drinks and crafts to welcome autumn.
